'Spike' Johnson and was often given to pupils as a
reward for some achievement. Mr Johnson bought these books from his own
pocket! This is the actual book given to me from 1969 - treasured as fond memory of both the school and of Spike. |

physics text book by W. Littler that was used for the O-level syllabus in
the 1960s sent in by John Wells. His signature appears on the label inside
the back cover with the date as 1961. You will be asking yourself - "How come he has this book? Did he steal it?" Well, the story is that he lost it and was made to buy a replacement. Years later, it turned up at his Dad's. It smells old and fusty now he says, but he treasures it. |
In 1975 a vinyl disc was printed by Firth Park School. Composed by John Jackson & Brian Hollocks, the disc, was entitled 'Barnardo' |
